Abstract

This study examines the impact of quality improvement (QI) initiatives and healthcare policies on patient safety outcomes in Pakistan. Through a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative analysis of patient safety data and qualitative interviews with healthcare professionals, the research evaluates the effectiveness of current policies in mitigating risks such as medication errors, surgical complications, and hospital-acquired infections. Findings indicate that while policies like the National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) have led to improvements in certain areas, challenges such as inconsistent implementation and resource constraints persist. The study recommends enhancing policy enforcement, increasing staff training, and fostering a culture of safety to further reduce patient safety risks
