1. Source of Funding

The Bulletin of Health Services Research (BHSR) follows a sustainable and transparent publishing model supported by the following channels:

  • Article Processing Charges (APC): Fees collected from accepted manuscripts help cover editorial management, peer review coordination, digital archiving, website maintenance, and publication services.

  • Institutional Support: Partial funding is provided by academic and research institutions associated with the journal’s editorial board.

  • Voluntary Contributions: Occasional donations from research organizations and sponsors aimed at promoting open-access scholarly communication.

  • Print Subscriptions (Optional): Revenue generated from print copies supports the ongoing operations of the journal.

The journal does not accept funding from commercial advertisements or sponsors that could influence editorial independence.

2. Fee Structure for Authors

BHSR ensures a clear and affordable fee policy for all contributors:

Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Standard APC for Accepted Articles: PKR 15,000 / USD 60

  • Covers editorial handling, plagiarism/similarity checks, peer review management, typesetting, DOI registration, and online publication.

Submission Fee

  • There is no fee at the time of manuscript submission.

Print Copies (Optional)

  • Cost per Print Copy: PKR 2,000 / USD 10

  • Available for authors who request physical copies of the published issue.

Fast-Track Review (Optional)

  • Fast-Track Processing Fee: PKR 10,000 / USD 40

  • Guarantees initial editorial feedback within 7–10 working days.

  • Note: Fast-track processing does not ensure acceptance.

3. Waivers & Discounts

To support wider accessibility and inclusion:

  • 50% APC reduction for students with valid proof of enrollment.

  • Full or partial APC waivers for authors from low-income countries or those without institutional funding (upon request).

  • Special discounts for invited high-quality manuscripts or contributions from conference collaborations.

4. Payment Methods

Authors can make payments using:

  • Bank Transfer

  • Easypaisa / JazzCash (for local authors)

  • PayPal (for international authors)

An official invoice will be issued after manuscript acceptance.
